Passarella helped lead Rogers to the 3A state football championship his senior year. He was named All county, All Area, and All State at Wide receiver and Defensive back his senior year. He had 15 touchdowns, over 1,200 all-purpose yards and 8 Interceptions his senior year. He averaged 39 yards a punt over his career and was also chosen by the TimesDaily as 1A-2A-3A Offensive player of the year in 1989. He signed a football scholarship to play for UNA. In Baseball, he helped lead Rogers to the school's first State championship in 1990 and had a perfect record of 15-0 pitching and a ERA of 1.13. He had over 100 strikeouts and only 5 walks his senior year. As a career in baseball, he had a 22-4 pitching record and batting average of .414 He was named TimesDaily player of the year in both 1989 and 1990. In basketball, he made all county five times, all area three times and averaged 18 points, 12 rebounds and 3 steals a game. He shot a little over 90% from the free throw line in his career and scored 30 points nine times and over 40 points twice in his career. He was named Lauderdale County Athlete of the year in 1990.
