Joseph "Jody" W. Terrell

One of the most decorated and versatile athletes in Coffee High School history, earning 13 varsity letters in four different sports (football, basketball, baseball, and track). No specific stats available. He played end, running back and defensive back in football. He had a knack for coming up with the big play. In basketball he was a member of All TVC and District Tournament Teams. He was known for making the clutch play in baseball. He was part of the State Championship Team in 1961. He played pitcher and center fielder. He was selected to the All County and District teams. He was selected to participate in the East-West All Star Game. He qualified for State Track in broad jump and pole vault for four years. He was also on the Swim Team for one year. Due to multiple injuries he was unable to continue his athletic career in college, although he had many letters of interest from major universities. After college he pursued a career devoted to promoting and expanding athletic opportunities for young people.
