Ronnie Lewey

Four-year letterman in football and baseball and three-year letterman in wrestling at Coffee High School. Starred as a tight end in high school. 1975 Coffee football team was Quad-Cities, Tennessee Valley Conference and 4A Regional champions, advancing to the state semifinals. The 1976 team was Quad-Cities champions and he was All-Area team member. As a senior, he made All-Area, All-Tennessee Valley Conference, All-North Alabama and All-State teams as well as being chosen Most Outstanding Player in the Quad Cities. Was an All-Area baseball player in 1978 and won numerous individual wrestling meets and advanced to state quarterfinals. Signed with UNA and helped Lions to first GSC championship in 1980, which also included an appearance in the Division II semifinals and a third-place national ranking. Began coaching career as defensive coordinator and head track coach at Rogers in 1982. Was successful as football, baseball, track and golf coach at Bradshaw for more than 10 years. Was head football and golf coach at Coffee 2002-2004. Was State Coach of the Year twice in golf, including 1999 when he led his team to the 5A state championship. His golf teams were 145-22 in sectional and state tournaments.
