Ted Talley

Graduated from Mississippi State in 1971 and after two years of coaching in Mississippi he began his 36 year coaching career at Lauderdale County High School. He was Junior High and Varsity Assistant football coach for 26 years. His Junior High teams earned a record of 56-15 in nine years. He was the Assistant Coach for the 2A State Championship team in 1974. He was the head coach for the girls track team for 11 years. They were state runners up in 1977 and 1979 and State Champions in 1978. He was head coach for the baseball team for 5 years. His baseball teams made it to the state playoffs 3 years and semi-finals in 1990. He was named Times Daily Coach of the Year in 1990. He was head basketball coach for the boys B team for 14 years and varsity team for 15 years. As head coach his teams had two 30 win seasons, 6 county championships, 5 area championships, 8 area runners up, 7 region appearances, 1 region championship in 2007, 6 elite eight finishes, 1 final four appearance, state runner up in 2007, and Times Daily Coach of the Year 2006 and 2007.
